Toby Penrose is an 11 year old boy was was diagnosed just last year with a rare inherited disorder that affects the adrenal glands and white matter of the brain called Adrenoleukodystrophy.
The symptoms include seizures, loss of vision, reduced mobility, and deafness. Even though terminally ill, his parents are more focused than ever on making plenty of precious family memories for him.
For his 11th birthday, his only wish was to sit in a sports car, so when he had asked to sit in a Ferrari for his birthday, his mother Emily knew that she absolutely had to make it happen.
She put up a Facebook post asking if anyone had a sports car that her son could sit in.
Nine strangers had immediately responded to Emily’s post and on Sunday, he was brought outside the Esplanade Hotel in Newquay where he was greeted by a whole fleet of Ferraris.
“The support from all of these people – who most of them we’ve never met – is absolutely amazing, this event really made his birthday. It means a lot to him and a lot to us.” said Emily.
